Hola! I am Paulina Lias aka ᴇᴘʜ3ᴍᴍᴇ, I'm an artist, designer and technologist, based in the chaotic Mexico City. I am a graduate from Visual Arts & Design program at Vancouver Film School and a Masters Degree in Technology and Digital Media at CENTRO | Diseño | Cine | Televisión.
My main interest is to understand how we communicate with digital interfaces for developing projects in a particular way we have main control over what is being created. My daily works range from different tools within using creative coding, programming and new media technologies for craft in art, music and design, particularly within the visual arts and the performing of live audiovisual experiences.
My work consists on mixing techniques to create bridges between the psychedelic and the technological, seeking to explore digital psychedelia by creating one of my essential projects "𝕊𝕒𝕞𝕡𝕝𝕖𝕒𝕕𝕖𝕝𝕚𝕒"; referring to visuals and immersive experiences that disorient and alter perception, alluding to states altered by psychoactives without the need to use to them. 𝕊𝕒𝕞𝕡𝕝𝕖𝕒𝕕𝕖𝕝𝕚𝕒 can then be seen as a new form of digital realism that reflects a current landscape and context where art and technology coexist in the same space, my live performances are a fusion of technology, art, and music, blurring the boundaries between the digital and physical worlds.
ᴇᴘʜ3ᴍᴍᴇ is my artistic project where I create digital alchemy and generative sorcering through the creation of audiovisual projects and live experiences, I weaves intricate tapestries of sound and imagery that evoke trippy emotions and sensations beyond words.
I create live audiovisual performances mainly using Touchdesigner and midi controllers for creating real time visual experiences,mainly I work with electronic and psych rock musicians. You can see a full list of the bands I´ve worked with here ✺ previous participations ✺
I seek for design opportunities in everything surrounding us, my biggest interest now is creating meaningful design and product,also bring a creative problem-solving approach to smart design, and make experiences people love to use making more user friendly the products.

My multidisciplinary background has provided a broad set of skills and material knowledge towards technology use such as computer programming, electronics and building interfaces for interactive art. My work often involves experimenting with new technologies and softwares for: AR/XR, Livecoding, Graphic Design, Motion Graphics and Animation.
I create concepts where I can bridge the real and virtual world through new media. I build up transmedia narratives through storytelling , storyboards, art direction and everything involving mixing techniques and software executions.

The creative practises of music and visual art have long been intertwined, I work along with musicians for creating visual and sonic concepts for transmedia projects; from cover albums to live vjing with touchdesigner. Creative Coder & Visual Artist using technology as medium to explore the perception of form, motion and color through graphics and code, this area explores working with C and Javascript in software sketchbooks like Processing and creating Live Coding with Supercollider, Hydra and Tidalcycles. By using computer programming as a creative discipline to generate sounds, images, animations and visuals created through algorithmically generating shapes, colours and patterns using algorithms. My main tools are processing, hydra and touchdesigner all written with JavaScript and C#.
As a product and experience designer I merge creativity and reality to create innovative solutions that improve people’s lives and have a positive impact in business and financial services, currently I work at BBVA executing projects focused on optimizing user centered experiences and using methodologies such as design thinking, agile methodology, behavioral economics and user experience design.I approach both design and leadership with a focus on people, establishing empathy for the people who make and the people who use the products and services I help bring to life by creating human-centred experiences that ensure both business and user needs are met.
My passion for art, film and animation has driven me to take a deep dive into the world of 3D! Animation is a real passion of mine; and being able to create stories, places and characters from scratch as well as bring abstract figures to life. My every day tools are Photoshop and After Effects, Blender and Houdini.
I create audio-reactive, interactive and organic digital artworks, systems and installations in TouchDesigner, also work with arduino and processing for creating interactive objects as well as Unity and filters with Spark AR for AR/XR experiences.
